Norma LaRae Hadlock Livingood "Grandma Good"
Norma LaRae Hadlock Livingood passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born October 10, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Lisle LeRoy Hadlock and Elizabeth Ann Martin, the youngest of three children. Mom was raised in and attended the area schools of Ogden where she graduated from Ogden High School.
She married Jay Livingood on March 17, 1955 in Ogden, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized on September 17, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous capacities including stake and ward MIA president, Relief Society presidency, and numerous musical callings including primary chorister, temple organist and ward organist in several wards for many years.
Her primary occupation was that of wife and mother, but she was also employed in numerous secretarial positions through the years, including the Bountiful Orthopedic Group where she was known for her friendly and helpful nature. She shared her love of music for many years by teaching piano and as a music merit badge counselor for the scouting program.
She took great pride in her genealogy and pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also enjoyed crocheting, planning parties for her grandchildren a" many of which became traditions they looked forward to, and doing the Deseret News Dining Out column with her husband.
Mom is survived by her daughters Ann (Jeff) Alley, Farmington; Sue (Darin) Williams, Tremonton; Joy (Dale) Gibb, Woods Cross; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as dear friends Dave and Vicki Belnap. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings William Hadlock and Marian Meeker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful 25th Ward Chapel, 1500 S. 600 E. Friends may call Monday, April 2, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
