Norma Inger Nelson

Norma Inger Jensen Nelson Norma Nelson beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away June 18, 2007, in Bountiful, UT. Norma was born on August 19, 1920 in Salt Lake City to Peter C.N. and Elvira Jensen. She attended schools in Salt Lake City and Bountiful and graduated from Davis High School. She also attended L.D.S. Business College. Norma married her sweetheart Delton S. Nelson in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on September 4, 1942, after which they honeymooned in Sun Valley, Idaho. Fifty years later, they celebrated their Golden Anniversary with their children and grandchildren in Sun Valley, Idaho just prior to Delton''s passing in 1993. Norma was active in the L.D.S. Church where she held various positions, active in the PTA and involved in many other community services. During World War II she worked for the Selective Service System. Later she worked in real estate and retail sales. However, Norma''s true passion in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Norma totally devoted herself to her husband, sons and family and worked hard every day of her life to help and support them. Her rose garden, Christmas pie, and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies were her specialties.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as family get togethers, her children and grandchildren''s accomplishments and performances, and celebrating special occasions with her family and friends. She always looked forward to her monthly lunches with a group of friends (The Club) that got together for over 40 years. Survivors include her two sons, D. Scott "Chip" Nelson and his wife Carol, David J. Nelson and his wife Janice. Granddaughters, Molly, Ashley and Cassie and Grandsons, Richard (Lesley), Eric (Marsey), Chad (Heidi). Ten great grandchildren, sister-in-law Barbara Jensen Mackey, two nephews and a very special niece Robyn (Mark) Goodfellow. Norma was preceded in death by her husband and brother Lowell Jensen. A brief tribute to Norma will be held Thurs. June 21, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East prior to the interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 P.M or from 12:45PM to 1:45PM Thursday at the mortuary. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
