Norma Kay Neuteboom

December 4, 1938 — March 29, 2025

Bountiful

Norma Kay Neuteboom, age 86, passed away peacefully March 29, 2025, at the Legacy House of Bountiful. She was born, December 4, 1938, to Herbert Glenn and Norma Vance. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Born on December 4, 1938, in Ogden Utah, she grew up in Ogden until age 5, moving to Wells Nevada until age 9, (following her father as Railroad man) and moving back to Riverdale Utah from ages 9-23. Married Dennis Earl Neuteboom May 19, 1961, living in Salt Lake City Utah until her final move to Bountiful Utah in 1967.

Kay lived a full and adventurous life with accomplishments both young and old. Coming from a musical family she played flute until college and played in the Weber High School band. She was proud of her Bachelors of Nursing degree and becoming an R.N. (Weber St., 1961) and her years of hard work and dedication to the field. She was a nurse at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City from 1962 to 1984 and Director of Nursing at South Davis Community Hospital from 1986 through 2001. Kay and husband Dennis raised two sons in their house in Bountiful, throwing many amazing holiday and summer get togethers for close and extended family. It was a true house of joy with her always leading the way.

Kay and Dennis loved to travel, getting as far east as New Orleans, but mainly staying west, specifically Nevada if you know the two of them. On one occasion, they decided to drive to the Grand Canyon, just because neither of them had seen it before. As dad tells the story, they both sat in silence overlooking the north rim of the Grand Canyon in all its beauty, and after 15 minutes mom looked up at dad and said, “so how long would it take to get to Vegas?”!

Upon her retirement at age 63, Kay fully embraced the new world of the internet, making many varied friendships across the county. She also found downloadable music, loving to make mixed CD’s, filling requests for both friends and family. Kay started online eBay and Etsy stores, vowing to rid the house of anything not worth keeping and became rather successful at it bragging that she was now a successful Businesswoman! She was a lifetime quilter and knitter, wanting to make sure her family was always warm and cozy.

Kay is survived in death by her brother Michael Vance and wife Lucie; Sons Dennis Vance Neuteboom, wife Allison and Michael James Neuteboom, wife Donette; 3 Grandchildren, Elizabeth Neuteboom, Lindsee Barton, husband Nick and Nichole Neuteboom, husband Cash Pentz; 2 Great Grandchildren, Kayden Neuteboom (dec’d) and Journey Pentz.

Preceded in death by her father Herbert Glenn Vance Jr., mother Norma Vance and husband Dennis Earl Neuteboom.
