Norma G. Schneider Dariano Norton
LAYTON a" Norma passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 due to cancer. She was born March 12, 1943 in Murray, Utah the daughter of Edwin Mathew and Afton Dille Schneider. Norma was raised in Draper and graduated from Jordan High School class of 1961. Norma had a variety of jobs which included MST&T where she was awarded the Vail Metal for Noteworthy Public Service after saving the life of a neighbor. She worked at Hill AFB and after retiring in 1993, then was a teacher''s aide at Cook Elementary.
On February 18, 1967 she married Gene Dariano in Elko, Nevada, on March 4, 1967 they repeated their vows at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Gene passed away September 28, 2000. Together they raised daughter, JoLyn and a son, Kevin.
On March 16, 2006 she married Keith Norton at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Norma is survived by her husband Keith, daughter JoLyn (fiancAC. Steve Marriott) son Kevin (Shelly) Dariano, grandchildren, Chandra (Shaun) Spencer, Chyanna Thorpe, Brooke and Lauren Butler, Dawsen and Jeren Dariano, Whitney and Colton Gallegos, great-granddaughter Nautica Spencer, brothers, Russell (Kathy) Schneider, Kendall (Kym) Schneider, sisters-in-law, Frances (Ray) Gaietto, Gayle (Bobby) Dariano-Pena, Elayne Chennault, Marlene (Jack) Smith, brother-in-law, Dale (Sharon) Norton, mother-in-law, Cleone Norton, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Kris Butler, Corey Thorpe and Trish Stratton and families, who were like her own.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, brother Lyle, son Byron and Gene''s parents, Matthew and Cornelia Dariano.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, with Monsignor Victor Bonnell, Officiating. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service 7 p.m.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
