Norma Christensen Rigby
Norma Christensen Rigby, age 83, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully September 2, 2012, at her home in Bountiful, Utah.
Norma was born to Ervin and Violet Christensen. Raised in Hooper, Utah, she married her high school sweetheart, Theon J. Rigby, in the Salt Lake Temple. She enjoyed life in the same Bountiful neighborhood for the last 52 years.
Norma is survived by four of her five children, Sandy (John) Siddoway, Deborah (Rick) Holt, David (Eni) Rigby, Lori (Mark) Knighton. Also survived by a brother Dale (Joyce) Christensen, a sister Peggy (Eldean) Holliday and honorary daughter Teresa (Richard) Woodland. Preceded in death by her husband, Theon, daughter and son-in-law, RoLayne and Mike Sterzer. Norma has an abundant legacy of 17 grandkids and 40 great grandkids. She also leaves behind other special friends including the cast and crew of her favorite TV programs, "Matlock," "Lawman," "Gunsmoke" and "Rawhide."
Norma spent most of her life as a wonderful stay-at-home mom, yet somehow managed to log 22 years at Carr Printing Co. where she was "THE" authority on bindery operations. She loved Mrs. Cavanaugh''s chocolates, Coca-Cola (no ice), romance novels, rodeos, Bar J Wranglers, brunch at Little America and laugh-out-loud greeting cards. During retirement, she and Theon enjoyed traveling the world visiting Canada, Mexico, England, France, Holland, Russia, Egypt and Jerusalem. While at home, Disneyland, Jackson Hole and the Oregon Coast were her favorite getaways.
Her optimism was contagious and her kindness, love and humor blessed us all. We are so happy that mom is now in a place where all of her wonderful memories are back and she will know again how much we all love her! Run now, bare footed and free.
