Norma Joy Steed

Norma Joy Steed Norma Joy Steed was born on November 17, 1941 to Arnold Gorin and Mary Ann Adams Steed in Layton, Utah. Growing up she was a “Joy” and a light to all. She had an excellent singing voice and loved to tap dance. In her youth she lived in Farmington, Utah, Las Cruces, New Mexico and Brigham City, Utah where she graduated from Box Elder High School. An intelligent, talented and beautiful girl, she was an attendant to the 1959 Brigham City Peach Queen. She attended Utah State University for a short period before marrying Bruce Jepperson. Together they had four children and lived in Mantua and Brigham City before divorcing. Later she received her secretarial degree from Stevens Henager College. Joy and her children moved to Fruit Heights, Utah sharing a home with her parents. She survived many set-backs during her time on earth but met them with pluck and a joyful spirit that lived up to her name. She was a loving Mother to her children and grandchildren. Joy was an accomplished pianist and continued to pursue music through voice and the violin. Joy was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many capacities up until her passing on June 17, 2013. A son Jeffrey Van Jepperson and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Jewelia Wall (Dan), Angela Fanjul (JB) and Annetta Williams (Rick) and 20 grandchildren and her siblings, Sherry Young (Grit), Kathleen Coletti, Robert Steed (Peggy) and Val Steed (Shauna.) Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kimball Ward, 125 Chapel Street, Layton UT. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road and Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
