Norma Streadbeck

At age 68, Norma Mickelsen Streadbeck, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the U of U Hospital surrounded by her loving family and caring providers. She was born June 2, 1945 in Salina, UT to Que and Mathel Sorenson Mickelsen. She grew up in Redmond, UT and attended the Redmond grade school and later the Salina (North Sevier) secondary schools. She loved the little town of Redmond and most of her family was settled there. In 1964, while working in Salt Lake City prior to attending BYU, she met her sweetheart Arval Larry Streadbeck. They were sealed as husband and wife in the Manti, Utah Temple on November 7, 1964. They resided in Salt Lake for a little while and then purchased a building lot and built a home in Kaysville, UT where they have resided since 1971.

Norma loved all flowers, music, watching birds, and following professional tennis on television. She enjoyed quilting with friends every Monday for many years, and made many beautiful quilts for her family. She was also an avid cross-stitcher. Most of all, she loved her family. She spent many hours planning for birthday and Christmas gifts, poring over catalogs to find just the right gift for each person. Norma and her husband, Larry, served for the past four years at the Apple Tree Assisted Retirement Branch with Norma as a service missionary and Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Larry as the High Priest Group Leader. This was an enjoyable four-year "mission" for them together. Norma loved the residents of Apple Tree and the Branch leadership very much. She is survived by her husband Larry, sons Jeffery (Annette), David (Lisa), Michael (Chandra), Jon (Kathy), Ben (Nikki), and daughter Ann (Doug) Bubert, and 24 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Mathel Sorenson Mickelsen, her brothers Glen (Linda), Myron (Joy), and her sister Ellen (Ronald) Bosshardt. She was preceded in death by her father, Que Mickelsen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Kaysville, UT Tabernacle, 200 West Center Street. Friends may visit with family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tabernacle prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
