Norman Walter Jorgensen, 78, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 of natural causes.
He was born August 1, 1935 in Richfield, Utah, the son of Harold Walter and Polly M. Williams Jorgensen. He was raised and educated in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School in 1953.
On August 18, 1956, Norman married Nola Mae Hansen in Richfield. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1966. He served in the Utah National Guard. He was injured in a bombing exhibition at Camp Williams.
Norman was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully in many callings.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic and supervisor at GSL for 24 years. After his retirement, he worked for Sports Authority in the hunting department.
He enjoyed working with wood and leather and made miniature cannons that he liked to shoot on the 4th of July. His hobbies included being outdoors, hunting, camping and guns.
Norman is survived by his wife, Nola, two sons, Walter Kraig (Angie), Chris, four grandchildren, Ashley Lynn, Erin Nicole, Andreas, Lillie, and one-great-grandchild, Adeline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Verdon, Gordon and one sister, Judy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8th at 11 a.m. at the Roy 24th Ward Chapel, 5900 South 3100 West. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
