Norman Lee Weitzeil
August 25, 1933 ~ February 23, 2017
Norman Lee Weitzeil, 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 23, 2017.
Norman was born on August 25, 1933 in Nephi, Utah, the son of Roscoe Lyman and Eva Pay Weitzeil. He married Gloria James on May 4, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have four children, Steve (Joan) Weitzeil, Sherry (Farrell) Poll, Lisa (Randy) Wakley, and Gary (Susan) Weitzeil. They have 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren who are their pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Rae (Dale) Weitzeil Johnson. Gloria passed away on July 10, 2003.
Norman married Jaimee Larue Norton on March 20, 2004 in the Bountiful LDS Temple.
Norman worked 33 years for Control Data Corporation and 10 years for Box Elder School District.
Norman was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served in a variety of callings. Dad loved to study and teach the gospel. He served an LDS Mission to Australia between 1953 and 1956. While serving his mission, he played on the Mormon Yankees Missionary basketball team.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Highlands Ward, 5378 West Old Hwy Rd., Mountain Green. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Mountain Green Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
The family wishes to thank the many caregivers and friends for their love, support, and prayers.
