O.A. Rush Jr

O. A. “Andy” Rush, Jr. Our loving Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa passed away on June 6, 2012 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah with his family by his side. Andy was born on October 7, 1926 in Caldwell, Kansas to Omer and Marie Rush. When Andy was six months old they moved to Billings, Oklahoma. He enjoyed basketball, football, boxing and fishing. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1944, training as a Naval Aviation Cadet. In 1950 he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering. He worked on the Apollo 13 and other Apollos. In 1957 he married Marlene Smith. Together they had two daughters. Andy is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Wood, Cindy (Robert) Titus, four grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Dad was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed, especially his contagious smile which lit up the room. Our family would like to thank the staff on Unit D for their love and care, and Hospice of Utah. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 12 noon at the Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 South State Street. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
