Olive Jane Doxey

June 22, 1928 ~ May 14, 2017

On Mother’s Day, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Olive Jane Doxey passed from this life to the loving arms of her mother.

Olive Jane was born on June 22, 1928 in Ogden, the youngest daughter of Willard R. and Mary Campbell Doxey. She graduated from Ogden High School and worked for Marquart, HAFB, and retired from Williams International.  Until her health declined, she was active in the LDS Church and was a member of the Ogden Jackson Ward. There were many sisters in the ward that mom loved and they loved her back.

Our dear mom and grandma, you have taught us how to live life to the fullest, to be brave and courageous, just like you. Thank you for all the birthday celebrations that made each of us feel so loved.  For every holiday you went to the ends of the earth to make it so very special.  From the cards you would mail to each of us for every holiday, to the delicious traditional meals that you and Judy would prepare for us to enjoy. For all the decorations you would display, the special deserts and Christmas cookies, and the hundreds of little bags of caramel crunch you made for each of us to give as gifts for Christmas. Mom was beautiful inside and out. She loved life, her family, and friends.  She had a great sense of humor, loved laughing, and making us happy.  She had a special relationship with her granddaughter Tami who considered grandma her best friend. We will sure miss you mom and grandma. You have passed on your legacy in so many ways.  We love you so much, but we know we will see you again one day.  Rest in peace our beautiful angel.  We know you will be watching over us every day.  Please keep us under your wings.

Olive is survived by her loving daughter, Judy and son, Scott (Linda) Lee.  Her

four very special granddaughters, Lori, Michelle (Larry), Tami (Brandon), and Marci.  She was very loved by her seven great-grandchildren, Brayden, McKency, Kiera, Kadyn, Bridger, Ryker, and Brexton and her beloved little dog, Tinkerbell; a special cousin, Erma Jean Poulsen, and her long time friends, Thalys Ritter and Evelyn Zundel.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brother, Willard (Laurel) Doxey, Jr.; sister, Elese Marie (Jim) McGavock; and her beloved niece, Mary McGavock.

We want to thank Legacy Hospice for their loving care of our mom, especially Shauna, Sydney, Heather, and Shaylee.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.  Friends may visit family on Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
