Omar Marquez, Jr.

Omar Alejandro Marquez, Jr.

July 9, 2000 ~ October 23, 2017

Omar Alejandro Marquez, Jr., 17, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, shortly after being in a motorcycle accident. He was born on July 9, 2000, to Omar Alejandro Marquez and Lorena Aparicio in South Ogden, UT.  Omar graduated from Gramercy Elementary, Highland Middle School and then attended Ben Lomond High School, and finally Ogden High School where he was a senior.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Omar loved working on his Subaru WRX, spending time with his family and friends and his girlfriend, Nathaly Aguilar. His goal was to graduate – he knew it would make his mom proud – and open a Subaru shop. He will be remembered for his playfulness, jokes, goofy sense of humor, and for the kind hearted way he was with his family and particularly kids.

Omar was honest and straightforward and he will be dearly missed. Most of all, he loved his mother and brother, who meant the world to him. One of his last posts read “the love I have for you guys is endless – you and Mom are my biggest support and motivation for me to never stop and keep going.” His friends will remember him for his favorite quote: “Catch me off a 20 roll!”

Omar is survived by his parents, Lorena Aparicio and Hector Diaz; brother, Jorden Diaz; and his grandparents, Rosa and Mario Aparicio. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gabriel and Evangelina Marquez.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th St. , Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
