Orin Ervin Searle

February 14, 1926 ~ August 22, 2014 

Orin Ervin Searle, 88, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2014 at the Utah Valley Regional Hospital in Provo. Orin was born on February 14, 1926 to Orin Leo and Alta Valre Cloward Searle in Vernal.

Orin moved to Ogden in 1942. He graduated from Ogden High School. He then served our country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Orin married Joyce Long on June 13, 1947 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on September 13, 1947. Together they had two sons, Bobby Ervin and Timothy L. 

Orin worked as a printer at DDO for 35 years. He was very active and played all sports. He received trophies in tumbling, trampoline, golf, fast-pitch softball, bowling, basketball, track and volleyball.

Orin was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many callings, such as Elder’s Quorum President, 70’s Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, and Counselor to the Bishop. He served in the Ogden Temple for ten years.

Orin was preceded in death by his son, Timothy L.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may meet with family on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
