Orlando Nelmida

Orlando Nelmida, 60, of Layton returned home to our loving Father in Heaven on June 10, 2012.

Orlando was a quiet, compassionate man who made a lasting impact through small acts of genuine love. He was the one known by his niece''s for bringing Reese''s peanut butter cups, sticking up for them, and taking them to Lagoon by bus. Family members would spend hours having lively discussions with him about everything from Star Wars to Disney''s Toy Story while looking through his vast movie collection.

Orlando was not driven to reach any specific status in life. Instead, he seemed to know what was truly important. He would spend hours tending to his mother''s gardens because he knew how much they meant to her. Orlando''s legacy is the loving example he showed all of us.

Orlando is survived by his mother, Teresa; and sisters, Rosalie, Nicky and Norma. Preceded in death by his father, Sam; and brother Alfred.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
