Orpha Maughan Manning, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
She was born January 25, 1927 in Benson Ward, Utah to James Charles and Wynona Saunders Maughan.
On February 24, 1950, Orpha married Owen G. Manning in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Owen preceded her in death in 1991.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including Ward and Stake Relief Society Presidencies. For many years she served as an Ogden Temple worker. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Orpha was a Registered Nurse and worked at the old Dee Memorial Hospital and at the Weber Memorial Care Center, before her retirement.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles.
Orpha is survived by her children, Alice (Bruce) Karren, Jim (Laura) Manning, Craig (Shelly) Manning, Cheryl (Greg) Richens, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother, Calvin (LaRee) Maughan, and a sister, Wynona Steele.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Family and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
