Otis Junior Adams

LAYTON- Otis Junior Adams, at the age of 90, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife and family at his side on March 10, 2017.  He was born October 6, 1926 to Otis and Hortense Adams in Layton, Utah.  He has one brother, Ralph Adams, and one sister, Norma Cooper.  His father passed away when he was eight years old.  His mother, Hortense, remarried to Glen Evans with his children LeGrand, Noal, Diamond, Harold, Willis, and Annie.  Glen and Hortense later had three children together, Bob, Carol, and Ruth Evans.

Otis served his country five years in the Navy.  He fought in World War II and the Korean War.  He married his childhood sweetheart, Faye Morgan, on July 7, 1949 in the Logan Temple for Time and all Eternity.  They made their home in Layton where they resided for 68 years.  Together they had fifteen children:  Glen Adams, Patricia (Bill) Ross, Laurie Preece, Scott (Lori) Adams, Diana Adams, Angelina K. Greenwood, Tracy Adams, Gay (Steve) Beesley, Guy Adams, MaLinda (Jon) Ferrante, Thayne (Deceased) (Danielle) Adams, Cynthia Fuit, Erlene Adams, Jeremy (Stacie) Adams, Annette (Eric) Scott.  They have 100 Grandchildren, 105 Great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Otis was a member of the LDS Church where he served as a High Priest and Explorer’s Leader.  He had a successful business, Otis Adams Plastering and Sons, where he was always able to provide for his family.  They did both residential and commercial projects.  They worked and traveled all over the western states including Hawaii.  He retired at the age of 82.

Otis had many great friends throughout his lifetime.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, boating, and camping with his family.  His greatest love was his family.  Dad always said he was the richest man in the world because of his children and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son; Thayne Adams, Granddaughters; Trina Adams, Amy Preece, great-grandson; Kayler Bair, son-in-law; Bill Ross, parents; Otis and Hortense Adams, Glen Evans, siblings LeGrand, Noal, Diamond, Harold, Willis, and Annie.

BaBa - Dad - Grandpa, we love you so much and will strive to live each day to honor the legacy you have left us.  Our lives are forever better because you made it a priority to be involved in them.  Families are forever.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital and for the hospice care he received.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Wasatch Drive LDS Chapel, 789 Wasatch Drive, Layton.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
