Oville Damond, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015.

He was born March 9, 1946 in Carencro, Louisiana to Oville Damond and Pearl Adams. He lived in Crowley, LA for 60 years, Houston, TX for seven years and Clinton, Utah for two years.

He married Wanda Crow-Green on January 11, 1972, in Houston, TX. Three sons were born to this union. They divorced. He married Verlene Williams-Damond for 30 years and they later divorced. On June 28, 2010, Oville married Veronica Decuir in Crowley, LA. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver.

Oville worked as a crossing guard for Roy City and Lafayette, LA. He was a pillar of the community. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping and just having fun.

Oville is survived by his sons, Joseph Damon, Clinton, UT; Kevin Damon, Houston, TX; Desmond Damon, Clinton, UT; a daughter Glodebra Cluse, Rayne, LA; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and ten brothers and sisters, Joseph (Earlene) Damon, Crowley, LA; Paul (Patricia) Moore, San Bernardino, CA; Charles (Lula) Moore, Rayne, LA; Chester (Sadie) Moore, Larry Moore, Patrick Damon, Gerard Damon, Lorraine (Shelton) Goodman, Iris (Black) Fernell, Mona Damon, all of Lafayette, LA; and Eva Moore, Crowley, LA. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethelrea Gouch, Teresa Damon and Betty Damon.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Clinton City Cemetery, 750 West 800 North. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
