Pamela Elizabeth (Hobbs) Lyman

Pamela Elizabeth (Hobbs) Lyman, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

She was born December 1, 1938, in Hartlepool, England to John and Mabel Constance Bedford Hobbs.

On January 15, 1965, she married John Wheldon in Hartlepool, England. They divorced and she later married Evan Peter Lyman on December 22, 1983 in Clearfield, Utah.

Pamela lived in Hartlepool, England until 1974 when she immigrated with her family to Clearfield, Utah.

She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 16. Pamela has served as Primary and Relief Society Presidents, as well as a Young Women’s leader and various other callings. She enjoyed camping and fishing and often took her grandchildren.

She liked reading, poetry and music and could be heard singing as she cleaned her house. Pamela is survived by her husband Evan Peter Lyman, Roy, UT; Mark John (Markel) Wheldon, Spring, TX; Nathan Michael Wheldon, Aurora, CO; Spencer Evan (Pamela) Lyman, Apache Junction, AZ; John Thomas (Tami) Lyman, Centerville, UT; Susan Denise (John) Grant, Layton, UT; Jayne Tracey (Mark) Hamblin, Logan, UT; Melinda (Leonard) Montierth, Riverton, UT; and LeAnn Lyman Thomas, Apache Junction, AZ. She is also survived by her 38 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Constance Bedford; father, John Hobbs; brother, John Kenneth Hobbs; and sisters, Iris Constance Bamlett, and Jessie Hobbs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Foxglen Ward, 3649 West 4800 South in Roy. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
