Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Pamela Ann McMurdie, was released from her struggle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She was loved and surrounded by her daughter, Tracie and son, Tim as she left this world into the waiting arms of her dear parents, Dean and Betty Johnson.
Pam was born in Madison, Wisconsin on February 15, 1949 to Glennis and Betty Haugland (divorced). When Betty married Dean, he was smitten and adopted her as his own. During Dean’s time in the Air Force, she lived in Germany, South Carolina, and Ohio, where she graduated from Stebbins High School. At Stebbins, Pam enjoyed the musical productions and had lead roles in My Fair Lady and Oklahoma. Pam was fun and outgoing and collected many friends along the way. She came to Utah to go to BYU and never left.
The best thing that came out of her first marriage were her most precious and prized possessions, Tracie and Tim. She raised them beautifully as a single mom and they were her whole world. She married David McMurdie in June 1985 and they enjoyed many wonderful years together enjoying their boat and cabin at Flaming Gorge before his passing.
Pam worked at Hill AFB as a scheduler before retiring from there and beginning her career as a booking agent with Ritz Carlton. This job gave her the opportunity for travel and adventures to Hawaii, Jamaica along with other places which she loved.
Pam loved her furry friends Nicki, Molly, Abby, Willy and Tux, they were great blessings and companions to her. She loved her times on the Johnson family farm in Canada, riding horses and enjoying her cousins. Pam never turned down a shopping trip and lunch with her mom and sisters. She enjoyed going to plays and concerts with family and friends, along with Sherry, her neighbor and close friend. She was a wonderful crocheter and many were blessed with her beautiful creations. She was kind and thoughtful, loving and being loved by many.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Betty Johnson and her husband David. She leaves her children Tracie (Randy), Tim (Mandy), as well as her grandchildren, Kaylie, Triston, Carson, Mason, Lydia, and Toby, who will miss her dearly. Also missing her will be her aunts, Arlene Linn, Letha Lamb, Jackie Farnsworth, Peggy Hiatt, and Rita Simmons and lots of cousins. For her siblings Joni Page, Eric Johnson, and Jennifer Steed, along with their children, life will never be the same. We all love you Pam and will be waiting for our reunion with you.
A big thank you to Intermountain Hospice, especially Becky, for their loving care. Also a big thank you to Tyrone and Amberly at Titan’s Doggy Daycare.
