May 3, 1929 ~ September 9, 2014

Pamela VanCamp loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, September 9, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Layton, Utah.

She was born May 3, 1929 in Maidenhead, England the daughter of Annie May (Powell) Meade and Joseph Meade.  She was the youngest of three children (one brother and one sister both deceased) and was baptized in The Church of England.  She completed her schooling in Maidenhead.  During the war she met Everett VanCamp, a US soldier stationed there and in 1946 they married and she began her journey to the US as a new bride.  She moved to Harrisonville, Missouri with her husband and became a naturalized citizen on August 28, 1952.  They had three children: Barbara Ann MacPeek, Larry Everett VanCamp (deceased) and John William VanCamp (deceased).

Life brought them to Kaysville, Utah in 1964 where she resided until her death.  She loved her family and they were her main focus.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She worked as a seamstress at Intermountain Health Care Laundry in North Salt Lake for 15 years.  She volunteered with Fish ‘N Loaves Food Pantry at Layton Hills Baptist Church for over 20 years organizing and sorting the food.  She was very committed and did a wonderful job keeping food available for the drivers.  She loved helping others and always said, “God gave her hands to use and not just be idle.”   She would collect anything that was being thrown away and recycle or remake into something useful and then go on a search to find someone who could use it.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara; her grandchildren Neal VanCamp (Corkie), Angela Covey (Daniel Nash), Pamela Black-Albertson (Eric), Robyn Ramshur (Al), Taylor VanCamp, and Lexi VanCamp,; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sons Larry and John, and her great-granddaughters Leanna and Chrissy.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 5 p.m. at her home, 369 East Center Street, Kaysville.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden.
