Patrecia Jackson Younger

Patrecia Jackson Younger returned home to her loving Savior, at the age of 85, on August 21, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Pat was born on November 22, 1935, in Ogden, Utah to Lila Snowball Jackson and Melvin Jackson.

She married the love of her life, William Edward Younger on September 30, 1955 and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on May 26, 1965. A life of love and friendship for over 66 years, raising their family and growing together.

Pat lived a life of service, not only in her faith with many roles like organist in various wards and stakes, Primary President, Relief Society President, Ogden Temple Shift Coordinator and more. Her life was a continuous act of service for her family and those around her.

Her happy place was anywhere her family was, and you could tell by the soft quiet smile she often showed. She was a master in the garden, raising prize winning flower beds, knowing the name of every flower. A talented seamstress - every grandchild got a handmade quilt, a treasured gift. Pat was also an incredible musician. She could play the steel guitar, accordion, cello and was most known for her talents behind the piano and organ.

Our family appreciated the outdoors because of her example, she taught us the love of nature by spending time walking, hiking, camping and four-wheeling.

Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband; children, JulieAnn MacArthur, Gayleen (Dave) Williams, Pam (Jeff) Lynn, and James (Laurie) Younger; 23 grandkids and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alta Spencer and Melvina Simmons; daughter, Sherrie Younger and one great-grandson.

Our Mom was the ultimate success. She made every single one of us a better person with her guidance, service and love.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Shadow Mountain Ward, 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
