Patricia Olsen Buchanan

Patricia Anne Olsen Buchanan (Patti), 64, died Friday, January 25, 2008.

She was born November 27, 1942 in Rawlins, WY. She attended school in Rawlins graduating from Rawlins High School with the Class of 1960.

Patti graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1964 with a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology. In 1976, she graduated with a Master of Science in Medical Clinical Chemistry. Also, in 1976 she received a Master-Doctorate Certification in Medical Clinical Chemistry from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She had the distinction of being the 250th person in the U.S. to obtain this honor, the second person west of the Mississippi River. In 1980, Mrs. Buchanan graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in History from Weber State University and Magna Cum Laude from U.S.U. with a Masters of Ed in Secondary Education. She also graduated with a PhD from the University of Utah in U.S. History and diplomatic relations with an emphasis on the Middle East. She worked at McKay-Dee Hospital, St. Benedicts Hospital, Utah, University Hospital, Lubbock, TX and Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Roswell, NM. She also won a teaching fellowship at the U of U, Weber State University and Texas Tech Medical School. She was on the adjunct faculty of Utah State University. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and loved parties. Patti is survived by a son, Stanley James, Mt. Green, UT; two sisters, Darlene Musselman, Enterprise, UT; Cheryl Wade, Chino Valley, AZ; and four grandchildren.

Friends and family may call Thursday, January 31st at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.

A committal service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Rawlins City Cemetery, St. Joseph''s Section, Rawlins, WY.
