Patricia Ann Marx Simmons Call ,84, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend left this world on April 4, 2024 after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Patricia was the middle child of Rex & Beulah Beers Marx, born on September 13, 1939, in Salt Lake City, UT. As the daughter of a traveling salesman, she grew up moving frequently, & attended a different school each year, until graduating from Bothell High School in Bothell, Washington. She would later graduate as a certified Home Health Aide from the DATC.
Patricia married Stuart Simmons Sr. In 1959, they welcomed two sons, Stuart Jr & Daniel. The two would later divorce.
As a single mother of two young boys, Patricia worked in her father‘s rock shop/beef jerky store in St. George, Utah to make ends meet. She continued to work various jobs throughout the years until she made her way back up north where she worked as a cocktail waitress at the Lou Monicos bar in Roy, Utah. This is where she would meet her number one best customer and soon to be future husband. Darrell (Pete) Call swooped mom off her feet, and the two tied the knot on February 28, 1975 in Elko, Nevada, and then they became a family of four. Several months later, they welcomed their first daughter, Dawn Marie. Just two years later, Patricia and Darrell would deliver their second daughter, Bobby Jo, who was devastatingly stillborn.
Patricia worked in various fields over the years, until discovering her passion for taking care of the elderly. She graduated as a Certified Home Health Aide from the DATC and worked privately & with the Davis County Council on Aging caring for a multitude of clients in the early 90s until her own senior years.
Patricia had a very kind and tender heart with an enormous love for animals and caring for all living things. She had a knack for bringing any plants back to life and would save a simple fly from an uncertain death. If you knew Patricia, you knew that she would never pass up giving a hug, giving gifts to others, and wore her heart on her sleeve. She lived a life guided by faith as a Christian and would share her love of God to all those around her and was a bright light to all who knew her.
She enjoyed countless camping trips over the years, trips with her family, Sunday drives, playing Domino’s and card games, and had a great appreciation for a beautiful sunset.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Darrell (Pete) Call, her children, Stuart Simmons Jr & Dawn (Kenny) Fuit; her brother Michael Marx Sr; her grandchildren, Kyler & Lexi Fuit; her best friend, JoAnn Bowman; and her fur babies, Thor & Harley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon Vier Barton, her daughter Bobbie Jo Call, her son Daniel Simmons and her best friend, JoAnn Bowman.
