Patricia Anne Pannier Daly

Patricia Anne Pannier Daly passed away peacefully Tuesday morning with her family by her side.  Pat was born in Salt Lake City on April 16, 1930 to Karl A. and Vera Soderberg Pannier.  She graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah where she met her sweetheart A. Victor Daly and married.  In 1957 Pat and Vic moved into a new home in Kaysville, (out in the country), where they have resided for 57 years.

Patti was a stay at home mom until she started working at Davis High as the attendance secretary.  After 12 years she chose to leave and watch grandchildren which had become her source of happiness and purpose in life.  She taught Red Cross swimming at Lagoon, 4-H, was active in the Kaysville JC’s and PTA.

Patti was always busy sewing, either on the machine making clothes, home improvements or quilts.  After it was hard for her to sit at a machine for long periods of time, she cut and pieced all of her quilts by hand with the help of an embroidery hoop.  She made hundreds of counted cross stitch works of art and gave as gifts.

Pat and Vic were able to travel every year on long road trips to see the sights and take as long as they wanted.  Cross country skiing was a favorite hobby and they used this method of transport to get Christmas trees for their three girls every year.

Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vic Daly, daughter Bobbi Jo (Steve) Flint, Honeyville; Nanette (Randy) Nate, Vancouver, WA; Kati (Jon) Collier, Layton; and Iggy Lou, brother Don (MaryAnn) Pannier, Salt Lake City.  She has nine grandchildren, Barrett, Brianna, Burkell, Bailey, Hayden, Lindsey, Cooper, Nic, Codie, and 13 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wally Pannier and Kay Pannier.

Patti was always thinking of giving and wanted her body donated to the U of U for science research.

A memorial will be held in her honor on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Vic and Pat’s home.

In lieu of flowers which she loved dearly, she said, “Plant a tree and remember me.”
