Patricia Gilgen

PAT GILGEN OGDEN - On April 8, 2008 our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Patricia (Pat) Gilgen, finished her mortal sojourn and returned to the loving arms of her earthly parents Robert D and Ramona Messerly Gilgen. Pat was born on April 13, 1955 and wasn’t expected to live through the night. Heavenly Father had a special plan for her. She defied all odds and truly was a “medical miracle”. Although she endured a life long trial of much pain, suffering, and 72 surgeries, her valiant special spirit was never crushed and her heart never stopped loving. Pat endured more during her mortal experience than most of us will ever have to, and she did so with very little complaint. Pat had a very forgiving heart. She loved her family and touched the lives of many people. She always had a kind word or thought to share. Pat loved God’s creatures very much and His outdoor creations of nature. She had a special fondness for butterflies, the Minnesota Vikings, and loved to crochet. Many years ago she married Rob Hansen and later divorced, but she always spoke kindly of him. She was a member of the LDS Church. She put her faith and trust in the Lord. She loved Him. Pat found so much joy in the beautiful simple things of life. Her life was not one of great wealth or fortune but one of very humble means. Her beautiful blue eyes would sparkle for the joy she felt for others. She is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law; Deanna and Dick Colemere, Paula and Scott Webb, Margo and Phil Lee; her niece Kim and husband Tim Hadley; niece Megan; nephews: Chase, Bobby, Steven, Derek and Parker. To the many doctors, nurses and medical staff who cared for her throughout her life, we sincerely thank you. Graveside services will be Saturday, April 12th at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Springtime was Pat’s favorite season. “So our dearest sister, now that you are free from pain and suffering, may you dance and rejoice among the Heavenly tulips and daffodils. We love you-‘til we meet again”. In lieu of flowers, contributions towards funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. Funeral Directors, Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
