West Point - Patricia Johnson Hurst (82), a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed through the veil to her beloved Bill, quietly and peacefully by the grace of God on September 23, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born on April 23, 1928 to Grant and Lamorna Waterlyn Simmons in Spanish Fork, Utah. At the time of her death, she was married to Devon Hurst

She served a mission in the Ogden, Utah LDS Temple and her life and career were spent in the service of others. She touched more hearts and lives than can be counted. She was a long term care administrator for over thirty years and was a pioneer in the movement from "Nursing Homes" to "Care Centers". She served as a lobbyist at the Utah State Capitol for Care Center Reform and was a former President of the Great Salt Lake Health Care Association. She has been recognized for and received too many awards for her efforts in health care to list. She was an avid bowler and bowled in the Women''s National Tournament for over 45 consecutive years. She was a dynamo throughout her professional and personal life. She will be sorely missed by the many, many people whose lives she touched and ALWAYS for the better. We love you mom, rest in peace.
