Patricia Stagg Laraway

Patricia Stagg Laraway passed away in her home, due to complications of cancer, surrounded by her family, on June 1, 2014.  Pat was born in Salt Lake City to Gordon and Hope Stagg.  She grew up in Ogden, Utah, graduated from Bonneville High School in 1975, and from Utah State University in 1978.  While attending Utah State, she married Stephen Laraway in the Ogden LDS temple.

Pat and Steve spent the majority of their married life in Layton, Utah where they raised their four children.  Pat taught math at Sunset Junior High, Central Davis Junior High and Layton High for 29 years.  She loved teaching and was a positive influence to many students.

Pat was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many callings, but especially loved teaching the youth and sisters of the church.

She created many beautiful quilts for family and friends.  She also loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.

Pat is survived by her husband of 36 years, Steve; her four children, daughter Michelle (Tucker) Hodgson, son Andy (Amanda) Laraway, son Daniel (Cammie) Laraway, daughter Erin (Craig) Halbasch; ten grandchildren whom she adored; and three siblings, Niel Stagg, Craig Stagg, and Robyn Chamberlain.  She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Owen.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute, the nurses from South Davis Home Health and Hospice, and members of the Adams Park Ward for their kindness, compassion and service.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Layton East Stake Center, 1015 N. Emerald Drive.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden.
