Patricia McFarland

Our daughter and sister, Patricia Irene McFarland passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Patricia was born June 27, 1971 in Salt Lake City, daughter of Alan B. Kartchner and Diane R. Kartchner. Her family loved adventure and moved several times, living in Utah, Arizona, California, South Korea and Germany. Patricia met life-long friends everywhere she went. She graduated in 1990 from a Department of Defense school in Germany.

Following graduation, Patricia worked as a waitress at a Salt Lake Denny’s and as a cashier at both Albertson’s and Target in Centerville, Utah.

Patricia married Jeffrey Robert McFarland, a devoted husband, on February 14, 2001. He passed away on November 23, 2010. The couple had no children, but through their extended families they enjoyed all the little nieces, nephews and cousins and were always surrounded with loved ones.

She is survived by her father and mother, Fairfax, VA; a sister, Michele, Silver Spring, MD; two nephews, a niece, and her best friends Andrea and Holly from high school.

Friends may visit family Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
