Patricia “Patty” Jean Berntsen
November 14, 1961 ~ March 10, 2022
Patty passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with her physical body at her home in North Ogden, with her loving husband Eric by her side. She was born on November 14, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Patty was an adventurous child that loved playing all types of sports, being creative, writing poetry, and being in nature.
Patty graduated from Skyline High School where she played volleyball, track and field, and was a member of the Pep Club. She loved cheering at her husband Eric’s football games and had many crazy adventures with good friends. She attended the University of Utah and was on their varsity volleyball team which she loved. She married her high school sweetheart Eric Smith Berntsen on June 8, 1984 in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saint Temple. They’ve been together for 45 years and have five children. Breanna (Brandon) Johnson, Calgary, Alberta Canada, Acacia (David) Tanner, North Ogden Utah, Mequette (Jenkin) White, St. George Utah. She was preceded in death by her two beautiful angel daughters, Sirelle and Tayiah. We know she is absolutely joyous to be reunited with them now.
Patty was a beacon of light to her community, she’d consistently serve all of her family, friends and neighbors. We as a family always say if somethings not done 150% it’s not done the “PATTY WAY. She loved being on the PTA and decorated many a teachers door, built props and posters for plays and sporting events. She served in various church callings with the youth and loved teaching relief society. She loved decorating for the holidays, birthdays, and ward parties. She loved fashion, working on her home, scrapbooking, gardening, the color yellow, whack-a-mole-, and her fans. She loved to go fishing, travel, and do anything with her soulmate Eric, “Her Snuffy”, they were inseparable and have a love that will surpass eternity.
Patty has 9 grandkids that were the absolute light of her life. She loved to spoil them with her “Prize Patrol” and giving them treats. She loved proving to them she was brave, she’d jump off the high dive, go on scary rollercoasters, and cheer for their teams. She was also soft and loved to read to them, do crafts together, and take special trips to Kurts drive in for ice cream cones. She was heavily involved in their lives and loved them more than anything.
Patty had an unwavering testimony of the Savior. We know she is in his arms and is so happy and joyful right now.
Her life was a symbol of courage, beauty, and faith. Her legacy will live on in all who knew her. We are all her biggest “FANS”
