Patricia Ann Stephens
Patricia Ann Stephens of Kaysville, UT passed from this world into the presence of her creator on April 1, 2017.
Patricia Ann Grady, or Pat as she was known to her friends and family, was born February 20, 1937 in Hankinson, North Dakota. Pat moved to Utah in 1955 when she was 18 years old and was accompanied west by her sister Shirley and her dear friend Pat Colemere.
In 1957 Pat married Jack Stephens, a lifelong resident of Kaysville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Jack and Pat built a beautiful home in Kaysville and together they raised their three children; Todd (Kris) Stephens of Mountain Green, Jackie Stephens Bowman of Bountiful and Johna (Dane) Hewitt of Puyallup, WA.
During her career Pat worked in Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base. In her free time Pat was a meticulous housekeeper and gardener and took great pride in keeping her home and yard in immaculate condition. One of Pat’s greatest delights was spending time with her extended family which included nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pat loved to hear about the progress and accomplishments in each of her children and grandchildren’s lives and she was very proud of all of them! Granddaughter Amanda White Derbis best captured who Pat was by saying…”She was unapologetically feisty, hilarious and had the gift of gab more than anyone I’ve ever met. We are all lucky to have so many wonderful memories of her!”
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2014, by her father Lynus James Grady, mother Laura Jahn Grady and three sisters Lylan Thimjon, Dorothy Olson and Catherine Ford. She is survived by her three children and their families, her sister Shirley Strand of Layton, UT and her brother Lynus (Junior) Thomas Grady of Columbia Heights, MN. We rejoice that she is once again reunited with her beloved husband Jack in the house of the lord!
