Patrick J. Hurley

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Patrick J. Hurley, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in Ogden. He was born on May 13, 1930 to Arthur C. and Dora M. Bales Hurley in Salt Lake City. Patrick grew up in Salt Lake City and moved to Washington Terrace in 1944. He attended Weber High School. Patrick was a Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War.

He married the love of his life, Beverly M. Taylor on May 29, 1952 in Ogden. They established their home in Riverdale where they raised their seven children. They later moved to South Ogden.

Patrick and Bev founded Bev''s Imports in 1974. He worked at Marquardt, Mountain Fuel, Wilson Meat Packing and numerous other odd jobs throughout his life.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed carpentry and sports. He loved coaching, especially his son''s teams. Patrick helped establish the Western Boys Baseball Association in Washington Terrace. He was a big Jazz fan. In his later years, he enjoyed working in his yard.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Beverly M. Hurley; sons, Patrick J. (Melody) Hurley, Jr., South Ogden; Kevin J. (Laurie) Hurley, Roy; and Todd J. (Shelby) Hurley, Hooper; daughters, Sandy (Earl) Whetton, South Ogden; Jan (David) Kimber, South Ogden; and Angie (Bill) Boschetto, Las Vegas, Nevada; 19 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mikel J. Hurley; parents, brother, Jack Hurley and sister, Val Gene Rauzi.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
