Patsy Cook Craythorne

April 9, 1939 — October 22, 2024

Patsy Cook Craythorne, 85, passed away on October 22, 2024, surrounded by her beloved husband and family. Born on April 9, 1939, to Amos Roy Cook Jr. and Della King Cook, Patsy was raised on a farm in Syracuse. She attended West Point Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and graduated from Davis High School in 1957.

On February 27, 1959, she married Richard Dale Craythorne in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple settled in West Point, where they raised their family and built a life filled with love and devotion.

A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Patsy served faithfully in various callings throughout her life, embodying love and service to all who knew her. She was a talented pianist and singer, performing with the Philomels for many years as they traveled the Wasatch Front. Later, they incorporated bells into their repertoire, sharing beautiful music with many communities. An accomplished seamstress, Patsy also spent countless hours crocheting intricate patterns, creating cherished treasures for her family and friends. This hobby continues to thrive, passed down through generations as she has shared her knowledge with her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters.

In 1976, Patsy and Richard co-founded Craythorne Construction Company, where she meticulously managed the books. Together, they built homes for countless families and provided employment to many, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard; her children, Suzanne and Neal Wayment, Michele and Kevin Roosendaal, Melanie and Lance Adams, and Erik and Jil Craythorne; and her cherished 16 grandchildren and 38 (soon to be 39) great-grandchildren. She loved each of them deeply, always remembering their birthdays. When the kids were around, she could often be found with a baby in her lap, and they will profoundly miss their “Grandma Patsy.” She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Leslie, and her brothers, Douglas and Phillip Cook.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Nicole, and her brothers, Farrell and Noal Cook.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2865 W 800 N, West Point.
