Patsy Leah Sherwood Gittins

December 23, 1937 ~ February 12, 2022

Patsy Leah Sherwood Gittins, 84, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was born in Ogden, UT, on December 23, 1937, the daughter of George Ray and Esmerell Jean Sim Sherwood.

She married Floyd Alan Gittins on March 8, 1956 in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 2, 1981. Floyd passed away on July 2, 2007.

Patsy enjoyed baking and cooking. She always baked the most delicious cookies and made the best potato and macaroni salads. She loved her dogs and cat, especially Chatzy. She worked for the Weber County School District many years ago as a lunch cook. She loved to cook and see the kids. She was kind and generous and always wanted to help others. When she was young, she loved sunbathing with a glass of iced tea and a Snickers bar. Her grandchildren will always remember grandma with her mole on her face close to her mouth. They would try to touch it and she would growl and try to bite their fingers to make them laugh.

Patsy is survived by her children, Cathy Martinez, Linda Ostler, Chad James (LisaJo) Gittins, and Shaylene Gittins (Paul Armendariz); 16 grandchildren, Jason, Nick, Jennifer, Alex, Michael, Tony, Holly, Colten, Kelby, Nashleigh, Hillary Kylie, Diane, Miranda, and Logan; and 19 great-grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She is also survived by her brother, Craig and sister, LaDawn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan; her son, Blake Allan Gittins; granddaughter, Jessica; and her parents and siblings.
