Patsy Lynn McFarland

Patsy Lynn McFarland, 86, longtime resident of Ogden, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021 due to cancer. She was born on December 14, 1934 in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of Alton Lynn and Ella Parker Thomas. She was raised and educated in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1953.

In July of 1954 she married Kent Corwin in Ogden and divorced in 1975. She married Bob McFarland in September 1976 and divorced in 1981.

Patsy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Patsy spent ten years in California with her family but returned in 1968 and began a 27-year career at the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1994. She then started a new career as a Real Estate Agent Prudential 1st Choice Real Estate.

Patsy is survived by her sister, Suzy (Roger) Baird of Farmington and two of her three children, Tamra (Boyd) Hansen of Centerville and Shaun (Cherri) Corwin of South Ogden. She has three beautiful grandchildren, Candice Schembri, Cody Corwin, and Kelly Corwin and one great-grandchild, Levi Anderfuren. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her oldest son, Kent Casey Corwin and her companion of 27 years, Jack Start.

Mom loved her family and friends and was very active until her disease stole her passion of golf, bowling and club.

She has a personal message to all her good friends from school, IRS, golf and bowling associations, real estate associates and neighbors:

“Thank you for your friendship and support over these many years. My life has been full with few regrets and lots and lots of joy. Because of you I was successful in life and fulfilled all my goals.”

To my family, “You always made me proud. You never let me down. I love you so much!!

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
