WASHINGTON TERRACE a€" Patsy Ludell Valdez Prestwich, 64, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her home.

She was born October 3, 1944 in Tapasitos, New Mexico, a daughter of Henry and Mercedes Flores Valdez.

Patsy married Byron L. Prestwich. Byron preceded her in death on February 4, 1981. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Temple in 2001.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Patsy retired from Hercules Aerospace following 15 years of service.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, and was a great Utah Jazz fan. Patsy loved to cook for her family and loved to stay in contact with them even if it was by phone. She had tremendous compassion for the elderly donating her free time helping them in any way she could. Patsy was a hard worker and left that trait to her children. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Kimball (Dana) Prestwich, Syracuse; Todd (Lisa) Prestwich, and one daughter, Christy (Mike) Powell, both of Washington Terrace; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Nicky, Edward, and Jimmy Roy; her grandson, Recus Swain, and her very dearest friend, Mattie Kelly.

Special thanks to the Kelly Family who were like a second family to her, and also her close friends, Erma, Earl and Kathy for all their love and support.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Washington Terrace 6th Ward Chapel, 4760 South 200 East.

Friends may call at the Ward Chapel on Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
