Patty Lou Larkin Olguin

Patty Lou Larkin Olguin, age 46, left this earth on her well-earned angel's wings Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Her motto: "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be Wonderful."

Patty Lou was born January 19, 1971 the daughter of Louis and Patty Larkin in Ogden, Utah. She married Eugene Olguin on July 3, 1993 at Snow Basin. They brought two amazing children into the world, Drew Christian and Devin Thomas. They were her greatest treasures and often her purpose for enduring the endless struggles with a smile and red lipstick throughout her long and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Patty was a very spirited, dynamic woman, who was a devout Catholic and an amazing example of courage, endurance, resiliency and faith.  The grace with which she persevered through the unimaginable has forever changed the lives of all who knew her.

The family would like to thank her devoted friends, who stayed by her side through it all and blessed Patty's life immeasurably. We would also like to extend gratitude and appreciation to the excellent caregivers at Manor Care for their kindness and dedicated service. Patty deeply valued and was forever grateful for every act of kindness and love shown to her by so many.

Finally released from the body that was her mortal prison Patty is now free to fly, dance in high heels, and hug everyone she loved, her dream for so long.

Surviving are Drew, Devin and Eugene Olguin; Patty's dear friend and daily companion, Mike McPeek; sisters, Kelly (Lyle) Waters, Dianna Lindquist, and brother-in-law, Robert E. Lindquist, and many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Excerpt from I Believe in the Sun:

“I believe in the sun

even when it is not shining

And I believe in love,

even when there’s no one there.

And I believe in God,

even when he is silent

I believe through any trial

there is always a way.” - Unknown

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
