Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbor and Fellow Lion died on July 19, 2013. Heaven needed help with their garden, Dad wanted to fish with his brothers and loop with his dad (surely looping is legal in heaven).
Dad was the foundation of our family, caring for Mom and helping his children. Rarely did a day go by without one of us calling Dad for advice on cooking, gardening, house care or cars. He has taught us all that we know and is largely responsible for all our successes.
Dad''s loves included his family, serving as a Bountiful Lion for over 30 years, raising a beautiful garden, sharing the vegetables he raised, telling stories, saying whatever was on his mind to anyone, and cooking and eating the "perfect meal".
Dad and Mom enjoyed 60 wonderful years of grand adventures together, beginning with time in New York as Dad served in the U.S. Army. Born in Hyrum Utah on April 22, 1933 to Vernice and Donald Allen, he was a baby brother to Lloyd, Derral, Dean, and Margene. He did, however have to share being spoiled with his baby sister, Ruth.
He is survived by his wife Earlene, Children: Greg (Lisa), Judy (Jodi), Daren (Donna), Teresa Peterson (Kelly), Grandchildren: Amanda Jenkins (Tyler), Jessica, Alli, Jacob, Tara, and Great-grandchildren: Aspen, Noah, Eli, Lucy, Texas, and Frankie.
Preceded in death by siblings: Lloyd, Dean, Margene, grandson Levi and numerous "granddogs".
Friends and family may gather to share stories and visit his family at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah on Tuesday July 23rd from 12:30-2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lions Foundation. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
