Paul Carrera
LAYTON – Paul Carrera, 82, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 in Roy, Utah. Paul was born June 19, 1930 in Eckert, CO, the son of Remedios and Socorro Acosta Carrera. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and received a Purple Heart.
Paul married Elma A. Raybal in 1950 in Delta, CO and they were the parents five children. He was a member of the Catholic Church and was active in the VFW. He enjoyed pistol shooting, gunsmithing, welding, playing the guitar and loved to read gun magazines and the scriptures. He was a fan of western movies and a big fan of the TV series, Gunsmoke.
Paul is survived by sons Paul Jr., Quentin and Michael and daughter Shirley Hanson. Also surviving are his siblings: Carmen, Joe, Frances, Mary and Petra. Preceded in death by his wife Elma and son Shawn, sister Nellie and brother Anthony.
