Paul J Hoover

Paul Hoover passed away in peace and comfort on March 14, 2023.  He was born August 19, 1937, to Raymond Paul and Grace Voss Hoover.

Paul wed Bernita Morse on January 5, 1957, and loved her more than life until her passing in June, 2010. They were blessed with four children, Paula (deceased), Michael (deceased), John and Christopher.  Their blessings increased with the addition of six wonderful grandchildren, Robyn, Trevor (deceased), Veronica (Juan), John Paul (Tawnya), Miranda (Steven) and Cameron (Miles).  Paul and Bernita were also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Samantha and A.J. (Robyn), Cullen, Shane and Amelia (John Paul) and Bentlee (Trevor), and three great-great-grandchildren, Raymond, Leilana and Leo (Samantha).

Paul was the “Original Good Guy” as described by an admirer. Hard work, generosity, compassion, humor, a firm handshake and love of life were the keys to his character. He was always happiest with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the outdoors with his sons and with his dogs. A resourceful man, he could repair just about anything.  He loved music and played piano and organ by ear. Paul created a beautiful melody of his life, and he will be sorely missed.

Paul is survived by sons and daughter-in laws, John (Erica) and Christopher (Julie).

It was his wish for a brief and informal graveside service when his ashes are interred at the Logan City Cemetery on a date closer to Spring 2023.  Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, Paul requested contributions be made to any neighborhood food pantry.

We want to thank the entire staff at Our House Assisted Living in Tremonton for their never-ending stream of love and compassion for our father, he really loved all of you!  In addition, we would like to say how grateful we are for Dad’s hospice nurse who oversaw his later care and allowed him to reunite with his beloved wife and children in comfort and with dignity. We will always be grateful for your love and compassion throughout this process.
