Paul Joos

Paul Robert Joos

Paul Robert Joos entered the stage of mortality 70 years ago and in the years that he was privileged to act on this mortal stage, he played his part exceptionally well.  Now the curtain falls; and he moves through the exit; the scene of his earthly life comes to a close.  He is even now returned to the place of his beginning from which he came.

His mortal life was filled with the things we loved and most starting with his wife Diann and their three sons; which has now grown to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and adopted grandchildren.  His love for movies, plays, and music was witnessed in the jobs he chose starting with Theater Candy for 10 years and the Motor Vu Drive In for over 30 years.  On any given weekend he could be seen walking the acres of pavement with one or more of his children trailing behind learning the ropes.  He worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 20 years, Davis School Disctrict 13 years while serving our country for 22 years in the 328th General Hospital Reserve at Fort Douglas.  He served many tours of duty including Deseret Storm.  His retired years were spent with his family attending many sporting, plays, and other events.  When his sweetheart returned home he took over where she left off taking care of children who had been raised as grandchildren from the time they were very small.  This a great comfort to both Paul and the children.  His family will forever be grateful for the service those children freely gave.

Paul is survived by his sons, Mickeal P (Camille) Joos of West Jordan, Utah; Mitchell R. (Amy) Joos of Washington Terrace, UT; and Marc S. (Brandie) Joos of Clearfield, UT; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Donoghue of Idaho and Marilee Smuin of Roy, UT; and brother, Alan E. Joos of Nebraska.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and daughter-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Vae View Ward, 1715 West 1600 North, Layton.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
