Paul S. Lechtenberg
Paul S. Lechtenberg came into this world on May 25, 1954 in Ogden, UT, born to Eldon R. and Norma L. Skanchy Lechtenberg. He released himself from the demons of alcoholism on June 18, 2010.
Paul spent his entire life in the Clearfield, UT area, graduating from Clearfield High School in 1972. Paul was an excellent swimmer for the Clearfield High Swim team. As a child he spent many happy times with his family eating scrambled fish in Yellowstone several times a year, camping and water skiing at the Bear Lake property, hanging out at the canal with his friends and snow skiing with his brothers and sister in the winter. Dead Horse Point in Moab was his second favorite place to camp as a young adult.
As an adult Paul still spent many weekends on his tractor at the lake. He also spent lots of time with his children being involved in scouts, baseball, soccer and more soccer. Lechtenberg family get-togethers were plentiful and Paul was the mashed potato king.
Paul was married to Sharon Hill, who brought two children to the marriage. Together they had eight more children. They were later divorced. In 1998 Paul married Melanie Ann Perry, who adopted his six youngest children. He spent most of his life working for the Federal Government starting with Defense Mapping for the Navy and ending at Hill AFB where he was a planner for the 309th Maintenance, Bldg. 510.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brandon. He is survived by his wife Melanie, his children Jennifer (Boyd) Thomas, Chad Arndt, Scott (Shawna) Lechtenberg, Blake (Mandy) Lechtenberg, Ryan (Kristina) Lechtenberg, Shawn Lechtenberg, Jackie (Mike) Peterson, Skylar (Rebecca) Lechtenberg, and Kyle Lechtenberg. Grandchildren are Alexis, Christopher, Connor, Jordan, Andre, Ellie, Holden, Scotland and Jossen. He is also survived by his brothers Ray (Ranae) Lechtenberg and Gary (Joan) Lechtenberg and his sister Vicki (Bob) Doman. He will be greatly missed by his other "kids" Nokia, Buffy and especially his "man-dog" Bear
