Paul Trent Mathews

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and father, Paul Trent Mathews returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Paul was born in Tucson, Arizona on January 21, 1981 to Jon P. And Roberta Mathews. Paul was the last child of seven children and was a surprise baby. He was a cute baby and his older sisters pampered and adored him. They gave him the nickname of Little Polly Wog Baby Frog.

Paul enjoyed and excelled at many things throughout his life. He was an Eagle Scout, straight A student, loved snowboarding, and played hockey in high school.

Paul graduated from Bountiful High School in 2000 and shortly after was called to serve in the Guatemala Guatemala City South Mission. He loved his mission and loved talking about his adventures and experience he had while serving the people of Guatemala.

After returning home from his mission, he met and married Erin Russell. They were later divorced, but they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Marley and Harper. Out of all the things that Paul loved in life, he loved his two daughters the most and dearly. They meant the world to him.

Paul was kind, polite, and tenderhearted. He was always willing to help wherever needed. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

We love you Paul!  You will be greatly missed and always remembered!

Paul is survived by his sweet, beautiful daughters Marley and Harper along with his mother Roberta Mathews, sisters: Sheryl Webb, Julie Mackelprang, Susanne Qualls and Marcia Fawcett and older brother Darin Mathews. Paul was preceded in death by his father Jon P. Mathews and just recently his older sister, Jackie Mathews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Clearfield City Cemetery located at 1050 State Street, Clearfield, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning prior to services from 12:30-1:30 pm at the Bountiful Lindquist Mortuary located at 727 North 400 East Bountiful, Utah. Interment to follow at the Clearfield City Cemetery.
