Paul Randall Oman “Randy”

January 6, 1950 ~ January 16, 2017

Our beloved Papa Bear passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 67 after sustaining a severe back injury due to an unfortunate fall on his property in Malad, Idaho.

Randy was born to Bill Oman and Charlotte LaRae Johnson (Lynn) Harmon on January 6, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and later moved too Bountiful, Utah.

He joined the United States Army after high school serving as a medic in the 2nd of 7th, 1st Air Cav in the Vietnam War.  He received a Purple Heart after being wounded by enemy fire while attempting to evacuate another wounded soldier.

After returning from the war, he met and married the love of his life, Sheila Rae Morgan of Clearfield, Utah on February 18, 1972.

In 2006 he retired from Phillips / Holly Refinery in Woods Cross and moved to Malad, Idaho to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country side.

Randy is survived by his wife, Sheila; four children, Robert (Cheryl) Oman, Olympia, WA; Tomara (Rick) Bowles, North Ogden, UT; Angeline (Steven) Riggs, Tacoma, WA; and Donna (Kelly) Bateman, Layton, UT; brother, John (Shari) Oman; sisters, Char (Dave) Adams; and Jan (Wes) Nielson; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

At Dad’s request funeral services will not be held, instead the family will have a private celebration of Randy’s life on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. at North View Senior Center, 2705 North 550 East, North Ogden, UT.
