Pauline Elizabeth McCarty

Pauline Elizabeth Wesley Bullock a€" McCarty

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pauline Elizabeth McCarty, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Clearfield, Utah.

She was born March 9, 1920 along with her twin brother, Paul Frederick Wesley, in El Dorado, Kansas. Her parents were John Frederick and Agnes Josephine Goff Wesley.

She enjoyed gymnastics as a young girl, played piano by ear, and was a champion bowler. She lived through the Great Depression and Dust Bowl Era. She graduated from El Dorado High School and worked in sheet metal and riveting at Beech & Cessna Aircraft Corporation of Wichita, Kansas during WWII from 1942 a€" 1945.

Pauline "Dolly" was married to Dale John Bullock in 1943 whom she met horseback riding in West Yellowstone Montana on a trip out west with her sister. They corresponded for several years before they were married in Kansas and moved to Washington and then to Clearfield, Utah in 1948. They had three children. Dale passed away in 1964. Pauline married her 2nd husband, Lester A. McCarty in 1967. He was also a disabled Veteran of WWII, and she cared for him as she did for Dale, until Les'' death in 1981.

Pauline was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We appreciated Mom''s loyalty, kindness, generosity and great sense of humor. She never spoke a mean word about anyone and everyone loved being around Mom.

She retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1970 where she worked on aircraft as a riveter in sheet metal. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening and traveling to visit her family. Being a "twin", she was so happy to see three of her grandsons and their wives have a set of twins each. Her father was also a twin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul, and three sisters, Kathaleen, Myrtle and Virginia, one grandson, Paul Wesley Bullock Jr., and one great grandson, Clifford Blake Allen. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Verl Wesley of Winfield, KS; her children, Paula Sue (Charles E.) Steed, Star Valley Ranch, WY; Paul Wesley (Cherie) Bullock, Pleasant View, UT; and Shauna Ann (Paul) Hill, Fruit Heights, UT; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
