Pauline Frew Hancock Thompsen, 97, of Farr West, Utah, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from causes incident to a fall.
She was born on April 27, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Lorin and Emma Schofield Frew. She grew up in Hooper, Utah. She attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School.
Pauline married Dee Hancock on October 4, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children together, Kenneth and Shirlee. They later divorced.
On April 27, 1962 she married John “Johnny” M. Thompsen in Clearfield, Utah. They had many wonderful years together prior to his passing on July 7, 1993.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had numerous callings. She also enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved to travel. Pauline and Johnny traveled to many places in their RV with friends and family. They spent many winters in Big River, California. She later enjoyed traveling with her kids and grandkids to various parts of the world. If she knew we were going somewhere, she would have her bags packed, because no way were we going without her. She loved to read and loved to spend time with her family.
Pauline is survived by her children, Kenneth D. (Debbie) Hancock, Farr West, UT; and Shirlee H. (Lincoln) Nelson of North Ogden, UT. Also surviving are four stepchildren, Marty Thompson (Mike - deceased) Jessop of St. George, UT; Vickie Thompsen (Doug) Tanner of West Jordan, UT; Randy Thompsen of Blackfoot, ID; and Kim (Terri) Thompsen of Syracuse, UT. She is also survived by four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny; stepson, David; brother, Bill B. Frew; and sisters, Donna Muir and Betty Allen.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
