Pearl Wright Parrish

Pearl Parrish LAYTON - Our much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Pearl Parrish, passed away peacefully to join her father and mother on Monday, July 13, 2009. She was born to George and Maud Holiday Wright in Ogden, Utah on July 11, 1916. She graduated from Ogden High School. Pearl married Walter F. Parrish on September 19, 1936. From this time, her primary concern in life was her family, where she spent the most important part of her life raising her four children. Pearl will always be remembered for her fun sense of humor. She was a homemaker and a champion bowler. A lifetime member of the Ogden Women’s Bowling Association, she bowled a 299. She retired from J.C. Penny Company and Davis Lanes. Pearl and her family enjoyed many picnics at their home in Overton, Nevada. She attended B.Y.U. Hawaii, where she took good care of all of the girls in the dorms. She was the Utah Woman of the Year for Diabetes in 2004. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pearl loved attending the Bountiful Temple. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, children: Walter W. Parrish (Hazel), Brent Parrish (Jeanine), Joan Johnston (Noal), Robert Parrish (Maddy), eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
