Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Peggy M. Johnson, 88, passed away on Thursday morning, August 22, 2024. She was born in Salt Lake City on July 20, 1936, to Movell and Ida Evans Seeley.
The family moved to Ogden and lived in Bonneville Park before settling on Chester Street. Peggy was among the first graduating class at Ben Lomond High School and later attended BYU.
Peggy married LaMont A. Johnson on July 9, 1958, in the Logan Utah Temple. LaMont and Peggy enjoyed 55 years together until LaMont passed away on June 2, 2014.
Peggy was a devout member of the LDS church. She loved attending church events, volunteering her time in many capacities, singing in the choir and especially loved going to the temple. She was also drawn to art as a way for her to express herself, which she developed into a talent of beautiful canvas paintings. Her other interests included playing tennis, bowling, shopping, jewelry and spending time with her grandchildren.
Peggy spent the last year at Hidden Valley Assisted Living. The care given with dignity and respect that they provided her with daily was beautiful and we are forever grateful. Thank you to Angelique, Ang, Natalie, Lynne, Hailey, Tegan, Katie, Olivia, Hunter, Kristi, and many others. Additionally, thank you to Mercedes and Jackie for her home care through the pandemic.
Although many people have contributed to her care over the years, her son, Chris, stands out. He has been the caretaker for both his father and mother for the last 15 years. Thank you, Chris.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin, David, Chris and Darren. She has 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
