Penni D Dopp

ROY – Penni D. Dopp, 61, our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. She was born on January 10, 1952 in Ogden, Utah, to Frederick and Rae Bernice Daniels Heszler. Penni grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School class of 1970. Penni married Carey Blaine Dopp on February 2, 1974 in Ogden Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 17, 1976. They were happily married for 33 years before his passing. They lived in Denver, Colorado, Ogden, then Layton where they resided over 25 years. Penni moved to Roy in 2012. A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Penni served in various callings including Enrichment Night Leader and Activity Days Leader. Penni and Carey, together, owned Rocky Mountain Dental Ceramics. She also owned a craft business where she taught tole painting and other craft classes. Her crafts were featured in local craft shops. Penni loved history and dedicated much time of her recent years to working on genealogy, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandkids. Penni also loved going on long road trips with Carey, especially to Yellowstone. She was also an avid reader—she loved a good mystery. Penni is survived by her son, Michael Christopher (Kristin) Dopp; grandchildren, Kaden 11, Parker 9, Gavin 6 and Crew 2; daughter, Jennifer Erin (Matthew) Hepworth; grandchildren, Bryan 13, Molli 11, Haili 8, and Elli 7; brother, Frederick (Jill) Heszler, sisters, Mary Jo (Ronald) Fowers and Barbara Olson and many friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carey, and her parents Frederick and Rae Bernice Heszler. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. A private graveside service will follow.
