Perry David Martinez, 56, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016.  He was born on August 13, 1959 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Joe Ignacio Martinez and Rita Sanchez.  Perry was raised in Utah and graduated from Ben Lomond High School.

He married Debbie Velasquez on February 19, 1982 and they later divorced.  He found a loving companion, Shawntel “Red” Marie Crosby, and they have been together since.

Perry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

For 25 years, Perry was a manager for the Ogden Housing Authority and owned Perrydise, Inc.  As a business owner, Perry was a very talented carpenter, electrician, plumber, and architectural designer – truly a master of all trades.  Anything you could imagine he could create.  He loved spending time with his family.  Perry had a very big heart and was always helping everyone and anyone; he never said ‘no’ to anyone.

He loved camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, watching westerns and The Price is Right, listening to country music, and woodworking.

Perry is survived by his loving companion, Shawntel “Red” Marie Crosby, Ogden; sons Brandon Perry Martinez, Riverdale; and Derek David Martinez, North Ogden; daughter, Lenzi Nicole (Joel) Epinoza, Roy; stepchildren, R.K., Skylar, and Aaron Fox all of Ogden; six grandchildren, and siblings, Lawrence (Andrea) Martinez, Joe (Cindy) Martinez, Lee (Chel) Chavarria, Virginia (Poncho) Martinez, Rosemary Garcia, Rita (Liz) Martinez, Gloria Gallegos, Peggy Martinez, Connie (Dean) Mitchell, and Gayla (Kent) Harris.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe I. Martinez and Rita Martinez Chavarria.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
