Pete J. Perea
OGDEN – Pete James Perea, 67, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home in Ogden.
He was born March 25, 1942 in Pagosas Springs, Colorado, a son of Pete Vincente and Charlotte Maria Archuleta Perea. He was raised and educated in Ogden attending the Ogden City Schools.
Pete served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. He was the recipient of the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service following many years of service.
Pete loved to spend time with his family, travel and carpentry work.
Surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Perea and Tara Perea; his mother, Charlotte Trujillo; and two brothers, Alex R. Perea and Gabriel C. Perea.
Preceding Pete in death were his father, one sister, Marie Irene Perea and stepfather, J. Ross Trujillo.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Family will meet friends at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Holy Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
